Ingredients:
For the Burger:
500g (1 lb) ground beef
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon oil or butter for grilling
4 hamburger buns
4 slices of cheese (cheddar or your choice)
For the Truffle Mustard Sauce:
2 tablespoons Black Truffle Mustard (Great Southern Truffles)
1 tablespoon Black Truffle Honey (optional, for a sweeter touch)
1 tablespoon Black Truffle Aioli (or heavy cream for a smoother texture)
Lemon juice to taste (for a bit of acidity)
Black pepper to taste
For the Assembly:
Lettuce leaves
Tomato slices
Red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
Instructions:
Making the Burgers:
Shape the ground beef into 4 equal patties, each about 2 cm (1 inch) thick.
Season with salt and black pepper.
Heat a skillet or grill with a little oil or butter.
Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your preferred doneness. In the last 2 minutes of cooking, add a slice of cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
Assembling the Burger:
Slice the buns in half and lightly toast them on the skillet or in the oven.
Spread a generous amount of Truffle Mustard sauce on the top and bottom halves of the buns.
Add a layer of lettuce, a slice of tomato, and red onion (if using).
Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top.
Close the burger with the other half of the bun.
Serving:
Serve immediately with French fries, sweet potato fries, or a light salad.
Optional Sauces and Toppings:
Black Truffle Aioli:
4 tablespoons mayonnaise
1-2 teaspoons black truffle oil (or truffle paste)
1 small garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions: Mix all ingredients together until smooth. This rich and creamy aioli will add an extra layer of truffle flavor to your burger.
Blue Cheese Sauce:
4 tablespoons sour cream or heavy cream
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1-2 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions: Combine all ingredients until smooth and creamy. The bold flavor of blue cheese will give your burger a sharp, tangy twist that complements the truffle mustard.
Black Truffle Honey Mustard Sauce:
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste
